Vinous 93
The 2020 Legit, 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, is bright and nicely focused, with plenty of varietal character married to Tuscan energy. This is one of the more focused, nervous wines in the range.
Wine Spectator 93
This robust red shows nice balance between the black currant, plum, licorice, cedar and spice flavors and the dense matrix of tannins. Starts out fluid, before the dusty tannins take hold on the finish. This is long, so have faith. Best from 2026 through 2043.
James Suckling 91
Aromas of currants, hints of oak, and some flowers follow through to a medium body with medium round tannins and a juicy finish. Drinkable but better in a year or three.
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 91
Here's a wine with a jazzy vibe that transcends the jazzman depiction on the front label. The Tolaini 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon Legit shows a warm, savory bouquet that is lavished over with leather, cooked fruit and even a touch of charred meat or barbecue. Think cigar smoke in a backroom music hall. This vintage has a distinctively opulent, almost heavy feel.
Wine Enthusiast 91
The nose is primarily peppery grilled meat, but plums and currants cut that savory smokiness. The palate glides gracefully in the opposite direction, as an initial blast of macerated dark fruit gives way to resurgent sanguinity before a bitter finish emphasized by imposing tannins and unrelenting acid.
